Great management is the first step toward great leadership. This cannot be achieved without understanding the company procedures, policies, and baseline expectations for all managers. Although everybody has their own management style, they all must work in unison. This is why I created and launched a Leadership Competency Model at Devo. It provided leaders with a set of measurable skills and behaviors that contribute to superior performance and became the baseline expectations for all management levels.
These are the first two pages of the document, further information was not included but can be shown upon request. Any company-specific information was removed.
Self-Assessments
Effective performance management cycles and feedback sessions are critical to a company’s success and strong team dynamics. Typically those are also the skills people need a refresher on - and what’s better than a quick infographic to keep in your “back pocket?”
Below are seven infographics I created for the 2022 Performance Management Cycle.
When working for a SaaS company, it is important for all employees to understand the value proposition of the product Who is it helping? How it is helping?
The video to the right is part of an eLearning course I created for all employees titled “Day in the Life of a SOC Analyst”. The objective is for all employees to better understand the company’s bigger picture.
This video was created on the platform Powtoon. It has also been altered to ensure no proprietary information is included.
Here you can find a job aid I recently shared with my organization regarding how to create learning outcomes. It might seem rudimentary, but working at a start-up means sometimes L&D is not the only department creating content! I work with many stakeholders to ensure they are educated as best as possible on Adult Learning Theory to enable them to create fruitful content.
In effort to increase performance in a specific department, I worked closely with stakeholders over 3 months to create a 50-page playbook.
This playbook details strategies, broken down as "plays", and best practices for completing the job, increasing client satisfaction, and decrease issues in files. Here is the first page of the third chapter to better understand!
Leadership training is important, and part of that needs to start with assessing the dysfunctions that exist within teams. In this Articulate Rise, I broke down the 5 Dysfunctions Patrick Lenconi writes about in his famous book. Click the photo to see a quick screen recording showing some of the course.
Onboarding new team members well is crucial to retention and a positive experience. I designed (and regularly facilitated) a 2-hour Instructor Led Training on Communication. Pictured above is one slide from this course.
Included in a 12-week long leadership training program was a Giving and Receiving feedback training. Above, you will find a Job Aid I created to assist the learners in this training.
